Vernon Edward Julian, 74, of 10 N. Gilbert died at 6:30 PM Saturday (July 22, 1978) at Lakeview Medical Center, where he had been a patient since July 7. Julian was a retired machinist. He had worked for Coffing Hoist Co. He was a past member of Moose Lodge 1001 and Woodman's Lodge. His hobbies were fiddle playing and square dance calling. Julian was born July 1, 1904 in Eugene, Ind. to John and Lilian Whyde Julian. He married Helen Arrasmith April 2, 1927, in Covington, Ind. She survivies. Other survivors include four sons, Bradley of Jacksonville, Fla., Frankie of Danville, Ben of Georgetown and Sam of Catlin; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Karen) Devore of Danville and Betty Lou at home; three brothers; four sisters; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter. Services will be at 10:30 am Monday at Lakeside Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mike McGaughan will officiate, and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm today at the funeral home.
