John attended the Catholic Schools of Lock Haven. From 1901-1902 he was an assistant at St. James Catholic Church in Steelton. He then organized the parish So St. John's at Steelton. He was later pastor of the Seven
Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary Miffletown from 1912-1914. He served the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Firgin Mary in Berwick for a year.On Nov 15 1917 he was appointed pastor of St. Hubert's in Danville and served there to July 12 1945. He was in ill health at the time and was appointed pastor emeritus and resided at St Hubert's until his death. He was for many years Diocesan Director of the Apostleship of Prayer and Consultor of the Diocese of Harrisburg. He is buried at the foot of the large cross at St. Huberts Church Cemetery now the Old St. Joseph's Cemetery.

He visited his sister Anna Kyler our grandmother in Lock Haven & Renovo. He was a man of humor. He and Elva Kyler Stover dressed up at Halloween wearing the opposite sexes clothing. See the Danneker/Kyler photo album.

The Rev. John M Danneker pastor emeritus of St. Hubert's Church Danville and a native of Lock Haven died early yesterday morning in his 79th year after a long illness. He had been stationed in Danville sice 1917. Because of ill health he gave up his active duties and became pastor emeritus on July 12 1945. Tomorrow morning in St. Joseph's Church Danville a High Mass of Requiem will be celebrated. On Thursday morning at 10:00 o'clock in St. Hubert's Church the bishop of the Harrisburg diocese the Most Reverend George L Leech will celebrate a Pontifical High Mass. Burial will be in Danville. Son of Mathew & catherine Danneker, father Danneker was born Feb 20 1872. He attended St. Agnes Parochial School & St. Vincent's High School and College at Latrobe. His sstudies for the priesthood were carried on aat St. bonaventure's College at Allegheny NY and St. charles Seminary Overbrook Pa. After his ordination in June 1901 he became assistant at St. James Church Steelton. In the following year he organized St. John's parish in that city. After serving pastorates at Middletown & Bervick he took up his long stay in Danville. His only survivor is his brother Henry of Osceola Mills.

JOhn Danneker's will: Rev. John Bolen Pastor of the St. Patrick Church Trevorton was appointed executor of the will of Rev. John M Danneker former rector of St. Hubert's Church Danville. The will which was made Mar. 8 1946 bequeaths $2000.00 to the Danville Church, Rev. Bolen is giver $400.00 for masses for the deceased priest. Rev. Danneker's car is given to his brother Henry, and the remainder of the estate is given to Henry, his sister Annie and a nephew Joseph. Te Will was filed in Montour county court for probate.
