The Rev. Wally Wallace
BROWNWOOD -- The Rev. Wally P. Wallace, 81, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Turnbow officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Rev. Wallace was born in Hill County and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a minister for 44 years and moved to Brownwood in 1988. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Early and was the widower of Isabelle Hamm Wallace, whom he married in 1952 in Carlsbad, N.M.
Survivors include six daughters, Lillie Bell McMinn of Grants, N.M., Wally Ann McLean of Farson, Wyo., Jo Ann Wells of Lubbock, Velma Cummings of Truth or Consequences, N.M., Elvira Hammitt of Gillette, Wyo., and Jackie Robinson of Edmond, Okla.; one sister, Fledra McWhorten of Houston; one brother, Matt Wallace of Brownwood; 20 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
