A. long, hard fight against cancer was lost on Thursday night when Jim Uhrich succumbed to the disease at the Fort Harrison Veteran's Hospital in Helena.
Mr. Uhrich, 42, and Rose Aakre of Conrad, were married in 1941 and had made their home in Valier for some time. He was employed by the Farmers Union Oil Co., and drove a Valier school bus until his illness forced him to retire.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, La Donna 3; son, Joseph, 1;his father, Ed Uhrich of Dodson; his sister, Mrs. Marie Wenzel of Valier and half brothers, Don and Duane Mason of Conrad.
Funeral services were held in the Valier Catholic Church on Tuesday morning with graveside services by the Conrad V.F.W. Post. Burial was in Valier.
