She was born March 22, 1931, in Topeka, the daughter of Ralph and Irene Holyfield Shearer. She graduated from Atchison High School.
Mrs. Gehring was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a bridge club.
She married John G. Gehring on Sept. 8, 1949. He survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Cheryl (Rich) Gentili, St. Charles, Mo., Tamara (Dave) Arthur, Stafford, Va., and Rhonda (John)Siebenmorgen, Easton; two sons, Greg (Dee)Gehring, Atchison, and Mick Gehring, Kansas City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Atchison. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
