Richard C. (Dick) Adams, 92, of Pound, entered into rest Saturday (Dec. 27, 2008) from Heritage Hall, Clintwood. Mr. Adams was retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict and World War II. Mr. Adams was a farmer, a member of Pound Masonic Lodge #59 AF&AM. and member of the Pound First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah Qualls Adams and his wife, Annie M. Adams. Survivors include his sons Raymond W. Adams and his wife Ruth Ann of Pound and John E. Adams and wife Wanda of Troy, Tenn.; a sister, Garnet George of Oregon; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn his passing. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the Sadie Baker Memorial Chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lusk and Rev. Greg Garland officiating. Burial will follow in the Qualls Cemetery in Pound. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at the funeral home with a 7 p.m. Masonic service. Condolences may be sent via e-mail to [email protected].
