Joseph Peter Wiser was born on Dec. 2, 1869 in Toledo, Ohio to Caspar Ferdinand Wiser and Ursula Virginia Addy Wiser. He received the middle name Peter after his mother's father (his grandfather) Peter Addy. He married Alice Susan Cook on Feb. 23, 1899. In the beginning of his marriage he worked as a coachman/caretaker at the Bulles Estate on Collingwood Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. This estate was located where Scott High School is today. When they moved to Perrysburg in 1914 they purchased their home on the corner of Indiana Avenue and Maple Street. During this time he worked as gardener/caretaker at Belmont Farms. His parents were of the Catholic faith. I imagine when Joseph married Alice Susan Cook is when he left the Catholic church. The Cook's were not Catholic. Joseph was an excellent photographer and left a legacy in pictures for his family. He and Alice had eight children: Laurence Wiser, James Wiser, Margaret Ursula Wiser McCloud, Laura Jeannette Wiser Thornton, Mary Wiser Ebke, Pauline Wiser Sutter, Frank Wiser and Robert Wiser.
