Married to stage actress Lillian Spencer, Thompson was an American playwright and journalist. For a time he wrote for "Munsey's Magazine" that featured a collection stories, poems and works of fiction, including Thompson's "Tarnished Woman" in 1924. He also authored books including: "Eat and Grow Thin: The Mahdah Menus," "The Carnival of Destiny," "The Pointed Power" and "The Scarlet Iris." He had been living in Europe since 1905.
