Ted Gärdestad

Popstar and Songwriter. Ted Gärdestad was described as a ”wonderkid” and was discovered by the manager of ABBA, Stikkan Andersson. Ted was only 15 years old when he released his first album ”Undringar” (Wonders). He then had numerous hits, of which many still are a great part of Sweden´s pop/rock heritage. Several of his albums were produced by ABBA-members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. In 1979 Ted Gärdestad represented Sweden in the ”European Song Contest” with ”Satellite”. But in 1994 Ted Gärdestad was again to be heard when he made a come-back with the album ”Äntligen på väg” (Finally on my way). But he never retrieved the harmony of life, and comitted suicide 22nd of June 1997, 41 years old.
