OBITUARY - SOUTHWEST TIMES RECORD - FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS - THURSDAY, DECEMBER 4, 1969 - PAGE 2D

Funeral service for Tim J. Garner, 79, Route 1, Van Buren, who died Tuesday in a Van Buren hospital, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church in the Bond Special Community. Burial will be at Stevenson Cemetery by Ocker Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. He was a member of the Zion Baptist Church. A native of Crawford County, he was a retired owner of a wholesale meat company, a stockman, a veteran of World War I and a charter member of the Van Buren V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Steele Garner; two sons, John T. of Van Buren and Sr. Master Sgt. Robert Garner of the USAF, Denver, Colorado; two daughters, Miss Margaret Garner, a missionary teacher in Sendi, Japan, and Mrs. Nell Franklin of Pacific, California; three sisters, Mrs. Addie Trout of Van Buren, Mrs. Bert Weaver of Fort Smith, and Mrs. Betty Price of California; and six grandchildren.
