Callie T. Hicks, 87, a longtime Sunnyside resident, died Sunday Oct. 22, at Sunnyside Community Hospital.

Callie T. Hicks was born December 11, 190l, at Marshall, MN. At an early age he moved with his parents and family to Canada where he spent his early years.

On December 16, 1920, Miss Mae E. Kinney and Callie T. Hicks were married in Cunningham, WA. They lived there for two years before moving to Benton City. The family made their home at Waitsburg from 1927 until 1945 when they moved to Grandview. Callie had been employed by Union Pacific Railroad as a foreman for over 43 years.

In 1969 he and his wife moved to Sunnyside and she died August 7, 1974. They had celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1970. He was a member of the Walla Walla Eagles and Sunnyside Senior Citizens.

He had 7 daughters and one son.
