OLIVE BRANCH -- Howard L. "Pee-Wee" Jordan, 77, passed away at 12:02 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, in Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Howard was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Elco, a son of the late Oris Lee Jordan and Noma Helen (Jordan) Jordan.

Howard was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired electrician from a Steel Mill in Granite City, and a member of Pulaski-Alexander County Sportsmen's Club in Miller City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Eugene Jordan; a great-grandson, Jonathan Gold; sisters, Norma Sharp and Geneva Mathias; and a brother, Carlos Dean Jordan.

Survivors include his companion, Mona L. "Kitty" Schoonover of Olive Branch; Mona's family, Steven Cooperider of Edwardsville, Keith Greenley of Edwardsville, Jim Greenley of Vienna and Linda Heilman of Bunker Hill; Mona's grandchildren; and great- grandchildren, Bubba Gold, Holly Gold, Amanda Cooperider, Brian Cooperider, Rodney Donaldson, Colleen Greenley, Hayden Donaldson, Megan Gold, Reese Bond, Greenley Bond, Jason Harlow and Miles Harlow; two brothers, Hugh Jordan of Granite City and Larry Jordan of Bunker Hill; a sister, Peggy Harlow of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Howard L. Jordan will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in Jones Funeral Home in Tamms with the Revs. Gene Hart and Verlee Eaker officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in St. John's Cemetery in rural Dongola with full military honors given by Illinois National Guard Burial Team and area veterans. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
