Third-generation gold miner. His draft card says he was born at the Sutro Tunnel in Virgina City. General manager of Korean Exploration Co., Chiksan Mine, Chiksan, Korea; and correspondent for United Press International. His refusal to leave Korea in 1941 made him a criminal to the Japanese, and he was sent for six months to Seodaemun Prison, while his wife was under house arrest.

Son of natralized-American George Alexander Taylor and Mary Etta (Lord) Taylor.

Married English stage actress Mary Lindley (born Hilda Mouat-Biggs) on June 15th 1917 at St. Thomas Cathedral in Bombay, India.
