He was a retired farmer and a member of Rice's Creek Baptist Church.
Survived by his wife; two sons, William Ellenburg and David Ellenburg, both of Liberty; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Aiken of Liberty; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clyde Ellenburg, Jay Ellenburg, and Ross Ellenburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Tessie Kelley and Mrs. Tempie Gilstrap, all of Liberty.
Funeral services: Tuesday, September 12, 1967, Rice's Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Cecil Holcombe and Rev. Bailey Yates.
Burial: West View Cemetery, Liberty.
As was still the custom of the day, his remains were returned to the family home for visitation until the time of the funeral.
