Obituary (Madison (MO) Times, Apr. 8, 1943)- Mrs. Sarah J. Alexander was born Sarah J. Clark, December 25, 1858, in Monroe County, near Ash, and died April 4th, 1943, at the McCormick hospital in Moberly, being eighty-four years of age. She is the last member of a large family, all having preceded her in death. She was a faithful member of the church at Duncan's Bridge for many years. She was married to Dan F. Hendricks. They had no children, but an adopted daughter, Marie. Uncle Dan, as he was known by all, passed away about 1920. In 1925, she was married to W. F. Alexander, and was again left a widow by his death a few years later. She is survived by the adopted daughter, Mrs. Harmon Dailey, of Peru, Ind., and a granddaughter, Miss Viola Dailey, also of Peru besides nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at Duncan's Bridge, Tuesday, at the Methodist church conducted by Rev. W. C. Russell. Burial was at Duncan's Bridge.

Moberly (MO) Monitor-Index, Apr. 16, 1943- Had Will Recorded on Day it was Made- The death of Mrs. W. F. Alexander at Leesburg, revealed that instead of putting her will away to be found and opened after her death, Mrs. Alexander had it put on the records at the recorder's office in Paris the day it was made, Mar. 5, 1937. After directing that her debts be paid and that a suitable fence of concrete and iron be erected around the graves of herself and husband, with a small rock at the head and foot of each grave, Mrs. Alexander directed that the balance of her estate be given to her adopted daughter, Anna Marie French, Hendricks. Wm. C. Tisue was appointed executor of the estate. The will was witnessed by Edwin Bassett and Arthur Dry.
