ROCHESTER, June 25 - The body of George Walter Chamberlain, 82, a native of Lebanon, Me., and widley known throughout the area, was brought to East Rochester Wednesday for burial in the family lot in Cold Spring Cemetery, following services in Maine. Mr Chamberlain, who died Sunday in Malen, taught school for a number of years and later devoted his time to historical and geneological research. He was author of the history of several families and had also compiled the history of several towns. Mr. Chamberlain was married to Miss Hattie E. Sherman of North Lebanon, Me., June 28, 1887. He held membership in the Historical and Geneological Society of Boston, the Converse lodge of Masons in Malden and had served as president of the Lebanon Academy alumni association since 1929. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Blood of Malden; a son, George S. Chambelain of Brockton, Mass., and five grandchildren, Barbara and John Blood of Malden, and Virginia, George and Sherman Chamberlain of Brockton, Mass.
