Anti-Jackson politician from Louisiana. He served as Louisiana's Secretary of State from 1830-1831 and in the US Senate from 1831-1835. On March 31, 1843 he died as a result of a duel. His remains were moved from the Girod Street Cemetery to Hope Mausoleum in 1957.
