Ruth F. Swavely, 99, of Kenhorst passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at the Mifflin Center, Shillington, where she had resided for three years. She was the wife of the late Daniel Swavely, Sr., who passed away in 1965. She was born in Reading on April 25, 1912, daughter of the late Harry L. and Anna Heinley. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She worked for the former Marilyn Shop, Reading, for 18 years and later from her home.
Ruth is survived by a son, Daniel Swavely Jr., Kenhorst; daughter, Bonita, wife of Benjamin Koller, Temple; grandsons, Richard E., husband of Erin Bare, Exeter; David D., husband of Michele Bare, NC; siix great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Fioravanti, Gouglersville, and Lillian Gier, Wyomissing. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth A. Bare, brother, Edmund Heinley, and sister, Mae Massa.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ruth's funeral service Thursday, Oct. 27, 2001, at 10 a.m. from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, with Pastor Richard Weidman officiating. A viewing will be held Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be made in the Spies-Zion Cemetery.
