CHARLES YOUNG.
Shelbina, Mo., May 1.—Funeral services for Charles Young, 83, who died early Thursday, were held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in the Hayes funeral home here. The Rev. Dudley Kern officiated. Burial was in Shelbina cemetery.
Mr. Young was born July 10, 1876. in Marion county, a son of William H. and Elizabeth Melissa Wallace Young. He was married March 25, 1896, to Leta Blackford. She died Jan. 27, 1958. Mr. Young farmed for several years and then operated a feed and coal firm here before retiring.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mary Dobyns of Shelbina, Mrs. Lola Mae Hamilton of near Shelbina, and Mrs. Jewell Byars of Wichita Falls, Tex.; five grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, a sister and a grandson preceded him in death.
