ST. GEORGE, Utah-- Elisabeth Clara (Riley) Bell, age 85, died Thursday September 7, 2000 at The Red Cliffs Regional Rehabilita-tion and Convales-cent Center.

She was born Dec 13, 1914 in Eureka, Juab, UT to James William Riley and Agnes Laird Riley. She married Frank Alvin Bell July 23, 1934 in Richfield, UT. Her father died when she was 12 years old. Clara attended school in Richfield and Eureka UT, she also attended BYU.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints, where she taught Primary for many years. She worked in the Genealogical Library many years. She was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers where she served as camp Captain, Historian. She was the creator of many table centerpieces for the DUP luncheons. She enjoyed making all kinds of crafts and collecting dolls.

Surviving family members include: three sons and one daughter, Clair F. Bell, West Covina, CA, James R. Bell, Sandy, UT, David L. Bell, Jerome, ID, Donnette L. Degen, Santa Clara, UT; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grand-children; and one sister, Cathryne, Munroe, CO. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be Tuesday, Sept 12, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd., where friends may call Monday 7-8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, Sandy, UT Wednesday, September 13, 2000 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the Larkin Gardens Mortuary Cemetery, 10600 S. 1700 E, Sandy, Utah one hour prior to interment. Arrangements are under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
