Musician. He was a singer and guitarist, best known as a popular personality on old time radio. From 1928 to 1947, he was featured on NBC and CBS radio programs such as "The Happy Go Lucky Hour", "Al Pearce and His Gang" and was a frequent guest on the popular Armed Air Force Radio Service shows during World War II. He also appeared in the movies "Hitchhike to Happiness" (1945), "One Exciting Week" (1946) and "The Main Street Kid" (1948). In the late 1950s, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his radio work.
