Richard Tennant died at his home on North Main Street, Saturday morning, June 19, 1909, at the age of 66 years. The deceased had been ailing for the past winter, but did not take to his bed until about one week ago. He was born in Manchester, Eng., May 1, 1843, and came to America in 1850 with his parents, and to Milwaukee in 1852. He located with his father on a farm in Granville in 1858, where he resided until the fall of 1868, when he moved to the town of Woodland, Sauk Count. On the death of his parent in 1900 he removed to Wauwatosa, where he has since resided in the old homestead. He leaves to mourn his loss besides the widow, three sons by his first marriage and one daughter and one son by second marriage. He was an active member of the Masons and belonged to the local lodge in this city, under whose auspices the funeral was held Monday afternoon at 3:30 interment being in the family lot in the Wauwatosa Cemetery. The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in Wauwatosa. (Wauwatosa News, Friday, 25 June 1909, page 9)
