About 1836 (according to Jeremiah's obituary), Jeremiah and his family: "boarded one of he first Erie Canal boats to go all the way to Buffalo...They traveled to Lake Erie, where they boarded another boat bound for Detroit. There...Jeremiah took off on horseback for the Milwaukee trading post in Wisconsin. His wife, Amanda (Wilcox) Noble, & children boarded a third ship which took them to Milwaukee by water, around the State of Michigan." (Linda Mac)

"Jeremiah Nobles, an old settler, died at his residence in the Town of Wauwatosa, June 18, at the age of 93. He was born in Berkshire County, Mass., Jan 3, 1794, and came to Milwaukee in the spring of 1836, residing here until 1842. Then he moved to Greenfield, and from there to Wauwatosa, where he resided until his death." (The Weekly Wisconsin, 25 June 1887, page 5)

Married Amanda Wilcox before 1819, probably in Canaan, Litchfield, Ct.
