Carl August Boden, 88, of Crete, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in Lincoln.

He was born March 10, 1918, in Crete. He graduated from Crete High School and was a World War II veteran, serving in the coastal artillery division of the Army. He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Crete, Masonic Lodge 37, Royal Arch Mason Chapter 17, Eastern Star Chapter 104, and VFW Post 4959.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughter and son-in-law, Cathleen Ann and Donald Pracheil; grandchildren, Jeremy and Amanda; great-granddaughter, Serena, all of Seward; daughter and son-in-law, Janice Joy and Mark Buss; grandsons, Nathan and Daniel, all of Seward; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Sue and Bruce Rudeen; grandsons, Chris and Shawn of Lincoln; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held April 29, 2:00 p.m., at Kuncl Funeral Home with Pastor Al Smith officiating. Soloist was Elmer Nemec accompanied by Patricia Butt. Music – Take My Hand, Precious Lord, The Old Rugged Cross, Beyond the Sunset. Services were conducted by Crete Masonic Blue Lodge 37 and Military Honors were by Crete VFW Post 4959. Interment was at the Wilber Czech Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dave Johnson, Rick Wienke, Mike Foster, Jim Clark, Jerald Pomajzl and Duane Theasmeyer. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Leavitt, Robert Reckling, Harold Dinart, Junior Bartels, Nate Fellers, John Boughtin and Dave Kastanek.

Memorials are to the Crete Rescue Unit.
