Funeral services will be held in the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. for Taft Resident, Marjorie "Sis" Black, 80. Rev. Sam White, pastor of the Cuyama Assembly of God, will officiate at the services. Burial in the West Side District Cemetery will follow the Chapel services.

Mrs. Black was born in Cameron, Oklahoma on January 17, 1920 and passed away on October 11, 2000 in the local Taft hospital.

Mrs. Black moved to the Cuyama Valley in 1953 and moved to Taft in 1981. She was a member of the Cuyama Assembly of God. Mrs. Black was a great cook and she loved to bake and share the baked goods with the children in the neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelsey R. Black, in January of 1995 and her three sons and one sister. Her survivors include her children and their spouses, her brother and his wife, her 11 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
