Hugh F. Zybarth, 85, former resident of Muscatine county, died at the University hospital in Iowa City Friday. His home was at Creston, Ia.
Mr. Zybarth was born in Duke, Germany, on March 30, 1859, and came to the United States and this county at the age of 14 years. He married Julia Coady at St. Malachy's church Ardon and her death ocurred on Oct. 9, 1917.
He farmed until 1921 when he moved to Cresssron where he remarried in 1925. For several years he was employed by the C. B. & Q. railroad at Creston.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Zybarth of Peru, Ia.; three sons, Joseph A., John F. and Leo M. Zybarth, all of Muscatine; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His parents, his first wife, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
The body is at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals where it will remain until services are held Monday at St. Mathias church. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
