John D. Connell, 63, died Friday evening at his farm home in Bloomington township where he had lived for the past 25 years. Mr. Connell had been bedfast for three months and death was attributed to a heart ailment and complications. Born in Wilton Feb. 8, 1875, he married Mary McEvoy Feb. 11, 1907, at St. Mathias church in Muscatine.

Besides the widow, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Bermel and Mrs. Irene Kook; two sons, Leo Connell and Robert Connell; five grandchildren, all of Muscatine, and a brother, Ed Connell of Oelwein. The body is at the Meyers Funeral home but will be returned to the home this afternoon.

The funeral will be held Monday morning at St. Mathias church with Rev. J. J. Morrissey, assistant pastor, in charge. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
