Obituary from The Times-News (Twin Falls, ID) - Sunday, October 10, 1971:
JEROME - John Woolley, 78, of Jerome, died Saturday morning at St. Benedict's Hospital following a short illness.
He was born December 27, 1892 at Milo, Idaho and married Agnes Borrowman on November 17, 1915 at Idaho Falls.
The couple lived in Idaho Falls until moving to Jerome in 1929. Mr. Woolley farmed in the area until 1947 when he built and operated the Woolley Apartments in Jerome.
He was a past Master of both the Jerome Grange and the Pomona Grange, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was instrumental in forming the Jerome rural fire distract, and was appointed by the governor as its first director. He also helped develop the Jerome canning kitchen.
Survivors include his wife, Jerome, one son, Russell Woolley, Jerome, one daughter, Mrs. Irving (June) Towle, also Jerome; two brothers, Walter J. Woolley, Jerome, and Orrin Woolley, Idaho Falls; one sister, Mrs. Helen Kaufman, Twin Falls; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hove Funeral Chapel by Bishop Robert E. Williams and Stake President George L. Lovell. Final rites will follow in the Jerome Cemetery.
