Obituary

Philip Jeffery Richards, 48, of Bartlett, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital Bartlett. Mr. Richards graduated from Franklin High School in Meadville, MS; received his Bachelor's degree at University of Southern Mississippi; and earned a Masters of Theology at Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served as the Pastor of Trinity Reformed Baptist Church for the last nine years and was a member of the Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals. Philip loved reading the Puritans' works. He was also a Civil War and WWII enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy T. Laird. Surviving him is his wife of 29 years, Kim Arnold Richards. The family will be receiving friends at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett from 3- 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 19. Funeral Services begin Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens – Bartlett. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 20 at Sarepta Baptist Cemetery Meadville, MS. Due to the travel involved, only a few flowers can be transported: therefore, the family requests that memorials be made to Trinity Reformed Baptist Church.
