Lottie was born Oct. 22, 1916, in the town of Rose in Waushara County to the late Leo and Julia (Moore) Martin. Lottie was the oldest of her siblings. She married Robert J. Menge on Oct. 22, 1938, in Fond du Lac and they had three children. Robert preceded her in death Feb. 16, 1982.
Lottie will be remembered for her quick wit and generous personality. She was a devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Whiting. Lottie was grounded in her faith and was considered a "prayer warrior." She enjoyed teaching Sabbath School. In her spare time, Lottie liked cooking, gardening, knitting, crocheting, and reading and writing poetry. She was an expert seamstress and often made homemade clothing for her children. Lottie was known for putting others first. She loved children, especially her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include children, Karolann (Leslie) Toth of Wausau and William (Sandra) Menge of Phillips; grandchildren, Coreen Toth of Wausau and Doreen Toth of Evans, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Rockwell and Maxwell Rybarczyk; sisters, Jo Mary DeVoe of Oshkosh and Goldie (Bob) Decker of Mesquite, Texas; and sister-in-law, Juanita Martin of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; daughter, Annabell (Dan) Hojnacki; brother, Donald Martin; and sisters, Viola "Joy" Borek, Doris Elliott and Polly Fabricus.
A private family service was held. Interment was in McDill Cemetery, Whiting.
