The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 26, 1924

After 66 years of wedded life, lacking only a few days, death parted Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lovrien of 637 East Main Street, when Mrs. Lovrien died at the ripe age of 85 years, last Sunday morning.

Had the couple lived until early in July they would have celebrated their sixty-sixth anniversary. These two aged persons were known as the oldest people in Ionia. They were the only two living charter members of the Church of Christ.

For 65 years they have resided in the present home and the dwelling on the west. Since 1865, a period of 68 years, Mrs. Lovrien lived in Ionia.

The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late residence. Rev. M. S. Decker, pastor of the Church of Christ, was in charge of the services.

Burial was made in Highland Park cemetery. The pall bearers consisted of the son, four grandsons and a nephew. Besides the husband, who is 85 years old, she is survived by two children, Mrs. Lois Estabrook and Edward Lovrien. Also five grandchildren, Marion Estabrook, Mrs. Doris Cox, Harvey Lovrien, all of Ionia, and John and Paul Estabrook of Grand Rapids. There are three great-grandchildren, Phillip Estabrook of Grand Rapids, Audrey Alene Cox and Doris Arlene Lovrien of Ionia.
