2nd Earl of Worcester
4th Baron Herbert

Eldest son and heir of Charles Somerset, 1st Earl of Worcester, and Lady Elizabeth Herbert, 3rd Baroness Herbert. Paternal grandson of Henry Beaufort, 3rd Duke of Somerset, and Joan Hill. Maternal grandson of William Herbert, 2nd Earl of Pembroke, and Lady Mary Woodville.

Henry became the 4th Baron Herbert on his mother's death in 1507, and later succeeded to his father's title in 1526. He was twice married.

In June 1514 he married Lady Margaret Courtenay, daughter of William Courtenay, 1st Earl of Devon, and Catherine of York. She was the granddaughter of King Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville. Their marriage was childless and Lady Margaret died before April 1526.

Henry married shortly afterward, to Elizabeth Browne, daughter of Sir Anthony Browne and Lady Lucy Neville. This union produced eight children, including the 3rd Earl of Worcester, the Lady Latimer and the Countess of Northumberland.

He inherited both Chepstow Castle and Raglan Castle in Wales. The first came to him from his mother, who was the sole heiress of William Herbert, Earl of Pembroke. He inherited Raglan Castle shortly before his death, and does not appear to have lived there, although his son and grandson are both buried at Raglan.

Elizabeth, Henry's widow, was buried with him in 1565.
