Carrie Willadean Taylor Burgess, 94, of Normal died at 3:40 p.m. Friday (Oct. 21, 2011) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

She was born in Bloomington on Nov. 24, 1916 to John Herbert and Mary Ann Helen Louise Coup Taylor. She married Edgar Melvin Burgess on April 25, 1938 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carole Jayne Burgess and 12 siblings.

Surviving are her children, Milton Edgar (Laura Corum) Burgess of Bloomington, Carrie Ann (Larry) Houston of Bloomington, Connie Adele Becker of Normal and Colene (Colleen) Fike of Clark, Mo; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Price of Tennessee; two brothers, Ben Taylor Sr. and Wilbur Dean Taylor, both of Bloomington and many nieces, nephews and friends.
