She married Richard J. Earp on 20 Apr 1868 in Wyandot Co., OH. They had one son, Edwin, who died as an infant.
The widowed Celestia moved to Montana, where she was murdered by a rejected suitor.
Her tombstone was found in the basement of a drug store in Bozeman, MT in the 1960's. Although she requested that her body be returned to Ohio and that she be buried next to her husband, it is not known where she is buried. There is no record that her remains were shipped back to Ohio.
