Marcus Kerl, 78, a retired farmer living on the Boonville Road for the last three years, died at the hospital here at 6:45 o'clock Sunday evening after undergoing a major operation.
He was born March 18, 1855, at Oakland Nebraska, and engaged in farming there the major portion of his life.
His widow, nee Barbara Sommerer, one son, Edwin of Oakland Neb., three brothers and two sisters survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from the family residence on the Boonville Road. Rev. William Richter, Lutheran pastor here, will conduct the service and interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. The body was removed to the Kerl Home this afternoon.
