Sarah Louise Pierce Shupe Christmas, age 82, died Saturday, December 22, 2007 in Chilhowie, Virginia.

She was born November 15, 1925 in Valdosta, Georgia. She was retired from U.S. Air Force, Civil Service, at Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, Georgia after 32 years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

Mrs. Christmas is preceded in death by her parents, John Ed and Lillian Pierce; one daughter, Sandra Gayle Shupe; and C. R. Shupe, Sr.

She is survived by two sons, Rev. C. R. "Bob" Shupe Jr. and wife, Delaine, of Lynchburg, Virginia, and William E. Shupe of Rapidan, Virginia; a special grand-daughter and loving care-giver, Patricia Caudle, husband, Chris, and son, Brian Severt. Granddaughter, Sandra Penalosa, husband, Elion Penalosa, and great-grandchildren Olivia and Christian Penalosa, of Chilhowie, Virginia. Grandsons, Leonard Shupe and Elijah Shupe both Marion, Virginia. Also by a special grandson, Matthew Blevins and wife, Becky of Bristol, Virginia.

Funeral services will be held at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Dunn and Rev. C. R. "Bob" Shupe officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgedale Cemetery in Rich Valley, Virginia. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the Christmas family.
