Services Held Today for Vernon Burns

Vernon Burns, Brookfield Route 2, died unexpectedly at home Friday afternoon.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church conducted by Msgr. Francis O'Dulgnan. Internment was in St. Michaels Cemetery.

The rosary was recited Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the Hill Funeral Home.

Mr. Burns was married to Helen Smith June 22, 1946, and they were parents to six children.

Mr. Burns is survived by his wife of the home; four daughters, Beverly Burns of Kansas City and Linda Burns of Kirksville, Becky Burns and Joy Burns of the home; two sons, Mike Burns and Scottie Burns of the home; two brothers, Roy Burns of St. Catharine and Alpha C Burns of Brookfield; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Faulkner and Mrs. Lorene Jenkins both of Brookfield and Mrs. Louise Swisegood of Linneus; several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Burns was preceded by his parents and one brother Cecil Burns.

He was a veteran of World War Two and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Brookfield.
