"Charles Pritchard Dies

Charles Wayne Pritchard, 74, died Thursday, April 26 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 25, 1909, in Americus, Kansas, a son of John and Minnie (Graves) Pritchard. On June 16, 1940, he was married to Marie Hatch in the old First Baptist Church in Laramie. He served his country during World War II in the Seabees in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945. For thirty-four years he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1975 as a Chief Clerk.

He was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church, having served as Sec-Treas. of the Mens Fellowship and as Deacon of the church. He was a member of the Railway Clerks, a Security Guard for the Laramie Railroad Employees Credit Union, a past president of the Oldtimers Club #5, a past Grand of the Albany I.O.O.F. Lodge #7, a member of the Rebekah Lodge #1, a past Post Commander of the VFW Post #2221, serving also as Service Officer and Chaplain and for many years was Poppy sales chairman, Scoutmaster of the Moose #133 Troop in Laramie and worked with the Little League Baseball boys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Marie of Laramie, one son Robert W. of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Wilbur of Dunlap, Kans, and Ben of Pratt, Kans; two sisters, Ruth Speer of Arkansas City, Kans and Frances Schaeffer of Albuquerque, NM.
Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery with military committal services..."
