Carl R. Archer

Carl Richard Archer of Venice died Sunday, July 10, 2005. He was 87.

He was born on March 13, 1918, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a machinist there prior to moving in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where he worked at Holy Cross Hospital. He moved to Venice in 1987 from Fort Lauderdale. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member and usher of the First Church of God of South Venice.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Jean; a daughter, Linda Keefer of Amanda, Ohio; a son, Richard of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services: There are no services planned at this time. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Pompano Beach, Fla. Ewing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
