She was born July 30, 1907, in Lyons, the daughter of Henry R. and Ida Nodurft Ball. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1925. A lifetime Rice County resident, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to First Christian Church, Lyons.
On Feb. 12, 1927, she married Fred G. Smith, in Hutchinson. He died Oct. 7, 1974.
Survivors include: a daughter, Lila Adair, Santa Cruz, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ted Smith; a brother, Richard Ball; and seven sisters, Beulah Rahlmann, Dema Reynolds, Wanda Belden, Anna Shoemaker, Ruth Rymph, Esther Alderman and Clara Blakley.
Her body has been donated to KU Medical Center. A memorial service will be at a later date.
