Betty attended Ames High School, in Ames, Iowa. She attended Iowa State University and was a Rainbow Girl while in Iowa. She married Al Miller and moved to Lansing, Michigan and then to Omaha, Nebraska where she was the head of the stenography department at the University of Omaha.
On June 10, 1956 she was married to Wayne Long Mullet. Soon thereafter they settled in Superior. Wayne and Betty worked for the family business, Mullet Hardware, Furniture and Appliances, which was founded in 1903 by his father, John. The business was dissolved in 1988. Betty became the secretary to the Principal at the Superior Elementary school from 1970 until her retirement. She loved children and her daily interaction with the school children was her inspiration.
In June, 2002 Betty and Wayne left Superior and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where they resided at both the Brentwood Estates and The Grand Lodge at The Preserve. Wayne passed away in 2006. They leave behind many friends at both residences. She was also an avid bridge player, loved to sew, knit and quilt, and many said she had a 'keen sense of humor.' She was kind and honest and much loved.
Betty was a longstanding and active member of the First United Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary and Eastern Star in Superior. She taught Sunday school and served as an Elder in the Church.
Betty is survived by her children: John Miller, and his wife Terri Miller of Frisco, Texas; Margaret Mullet of Walton, Nebraska and her children Megan and Christie Timmerman; Mark Mullet, and his wife Melinda Mullet of McLean, Virginia, and their children Katherine and Amanda Mullet.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, NE.
