Clarence J. Kotek

Funeral services for Clarence J. Kotek of Montgomery were held on Monday, December 29 at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer in Montgomery at 10:00 a.m. Joe Kline gave the Readings and Gift Bearers were Helen Keogh, Bozena Kline and Jennie Kline. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Pallbearers were Dennis Kline, Robert Kline, Jeff Keogh, Joe Janovsky, Jim Kotek and Larry Parsons.

Clarence J. Kotek was born July 15, 1918 in Montgomery to Frank J. Kotek and Elizabeth Zelenka Kotek. He attended school in Montgomery and served in the U.S. Army for 4 1/2 years. He was united in marriage to Rosalia Vrzal on October 1, 1949 at Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery. Following their marriage they made their home in Montgomery. He was an employee at the Green Giant warehouse for 46 years. He spent 11 days at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, where he passed away on Friday, December 26. He died at the age of 68 years.

He was a member of American Legion Post #79 and the Catholic Workman Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalia; two sons, Scott Kotek of New Prague and Greg Kotek of Lakeville; two grandchildren; one brother, Francis Kotek and one sister, Marcella Killner of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Betty Janovsky and Adele Janda and Julia in infancy.

Correction: In the obituary of Clarence Kotek, published last week, the name of Stanley (Ben) Kotek, was inadvertently omitted from the list of those that preceded him in death, and Jennie Kotek, a granddaughter, was one of the Gift Bearers and not Jennie Kline.
