Lacey was born March 28, 1885 in Marion Township, Davis County, Iowa to John Thomas and Nancy Rebeca Forsythe Morrison. He married Maud A. Caviness (foster child of John and Eliza Winecup) April 7, 1906 in Davis County and they farmed there for several years. By 1917 they are in Centerville, Appanoose County, Iowa where Lacey is identified as a Garage owner at 120 N 12th street. In each subsequent census he is identified as a manager of an automobile shop/garage. He was also a member of the volunteer fire department.
An article in the Centerville Iowegian newspaper of December 7, 1959 states that Lacey, 75, died Sunday, December 6, of a heart attack.
He and Maud were parents to Ruth Ada Irene Morrison who married (1) Eugene Thomas Sherer and (2) Graydon M. Boyd and Christine Mae Morrison who married (1) John Elmer Reid and (2) Richard Arnold Wilcox.
