Died on the 27th, Miss Bertha Jenkins, aged 19, of a complication of troubles. She was the daughter of Joe Jenkins and a grand-daughter of Rev. J. A. Singleton, of this place, and a lovely christian, being a member of Pleasant Point Baptist church and a Sunday school worker. She had many friends among the young people - in fact all who knew her loved her. A large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives followed the remains to their last resting place. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. W. R. Davidson, of Danville, after which the remains were laid to rest in Pleasant Point cemetery.
