Dennis W. Ellenbecker, Sr., 80, of Topeka passed away at Midland Hospice on Sunday, May 11, 2008.
He was born Feb. 3, 1928 at Topeka the son of George and Margaret Willis Ellenbecker.
He lived most of his life in Topeka. He graduated from Topeka Catholic High School and worked at the Ellenbeckers service station on north Kansas Ave for over 30 years. He later worked at Dads Extermination Company for over 12 years. Mr. Ellenbecker served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a member of Mater Dei Parrish, Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Ellenbecker; son Dennis Ellenbecker, Jr.; grandchildren, Thomas and John Ellenbecker and Candice; great-grandchildren, Haley and Kelsey all of Topeka and his sister Mary Jean Langford who lives in Virginia.
Graveside services and interment will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 16th at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka. He will lie in state from 8-5 on Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.
