Alias: L F Cosky

Interred 3/1/1927

- Cause of death:Carcinoma

- Occupation: Blacksmith, Farmer. While living in Australia he touted himself as a professor selling miracle pills that could cure all. He ran newspaper ads in Australian papers June through September of 1902 selling those pills. The man had no formal education and he definitely was not a professor, nor was he a doctor.

It has been said Leopold was an inventor, highly intelligent, spoke several languages, unusual strength, and was a strong disciplinarian.

Leopold married twice. He married December 12, 1886 to Frances S. Kennedy in Camden, New Jersey, USA. Together, they had 9 children. In May of 1902, Leopold abandoned Frances and the children to parts unknown.

It was years later that it was discovered that he went to Australia where he married wife #2, Ethel Kate Lovelock, October, 1902. Leopold never bothered to divorce Frances. Leopold had 5 children with Ethel Kate.

It is believed he was born in Danzig, Prussia (present day Gdansk, Poland.)

It is believed he took the name Cosky upon his arrival to USA at age 14, no other family with him, no documentation of his mode of arrival, rumors circulated he had been a stow-a-way on a ship-possibly entered USA through Canada (?)

Some of Leopold's East Coast children added an "e" to name, becoming Coskey.

There are many family trees circulating that name his parents, his father's surname has been notated as being Kibenheimosky, Kimenkowki, and several other variations. It has been proven, through DNA testing by a grandson of Leopold's that there is NO connection to that surname. To date, February 23, 2015, there is absolutely no proof of Leopold's parents.
