Vernon Eugene "Whitey" Shenshew, 78, of Lincoln, died October 15, 2011. Mr. Shenshew was born January 2, 1933 to Edward & Marie (Tierney) Shenshew in Tilden, NE.

Whitey worked for Abel Construction and was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a huge Husker & Nascar fan. He was also very proud to have recently received his 30 year medallion of sobriety.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret, Betty and Ruth; brothers, Dallas, Jim, Bill, Don and Ervin

Survivors include his sisters, Mary Blair of Tilden, Kay (Gus) Papstein of West Point, NE and Glendoris Shoemake of California; brother-in-law, Paul Denny of Fremont; special friends Esther Sotham and family; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln 68510.

Inurnment will be 10:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2011 in

Lincoln Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 12:00P-8:00P, Wednesday, October 19, 2011

at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Beattie Elementary School or the Disabled American Veterans.
