Joann M. Evans, 79, of Columbia, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 in ManorCare Health Services in Lancaster.
Born in Barnesboro, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Shaw) Foxall.
Joann worked for the former Hubley Toys as a Relief Girl for over twenty-seven years.
She enjoyed puzzle books, TV, and spending time with her family.
For the short time that Joann was at St. John Herr Estates in Columbia, she developed many friendships with the other residents.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: John J. Evans, Sr. who passed away in 2005; her sister: Rita DeConna; and, her brother: William Foxall.
Joann is survived by her daughters: Debra E. Smith, wife Hubert of Columbia, Candis E. Mast, wife of Larry of Leola, Catherine I. Albright, wife of Thomas of Lancaster, and Stacy J. Evans of Lancaster; her son: John J. Evans, Jr., husband of Suzanne of Denver, Colorado; her thirteen grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; her sisters: Margaret Weakland, wife of Patrick of E. Lake, Ohio and Freda Gaskins of Chestertown, Maryland; and, her brother: Joseph Foxall of Lancaster.
Friends will be received from 01:00 - 02:00 PM on Monday, October 24, 2011 in the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. A Memorial Service will begin at 02:00 PM.
Interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
