DEATH & INTERMENT: The Reverend Stanley Olin Royal died on April 14, 1914, in Hamilton County, Ohio, and was interred there at Cincinnati's magnificent Spring Grove Cemetery in Garden LN, Section 113, Lot. 236, Space 05. Atop the enormous grave monument to John Morgan & Martha (Young) Walden and all five of their of their children, their three granddaughters, and two sons-in-law, including the Rev. Stanley Olin Royal, stands a sculpted granite Bible opened to two pages of which the first page cites FIRST CORINTHIANS, XV, 57: "But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through Our Lord Jesus Christ" (over sin and death). The second page cites GALATIANS, VI, 14: "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world." Presumably Bishop John Morgan Walden selected these citations from the King James Version of the New Testament. To the first citation, Bruce Garver has added (within parentheses) four words which summarize the preceding two verses -- 55 & 56 -- from FIRST CORINTHIANS, XV. All evidence suggests that Bishop John Morgan Walden selected these passages from Scripture and helped to design this Walden & Royal family grave monument.
