Jacob Skluzacek Lonsdale Farmer Dies of Old Age
Was Resident of Webster and Lonsdale Since 1859 - Funeral Held Dec. 2
Jacob Skluzacek, well known resident of the Lonsdale and Webster communities, passed away at the home of Jos. R. Skluzacek at Lonsdale on November 29 of old age, after an illness of fourteen days.
Deceased was born at Dunajice, Bohemia on [July 8, 1851]*. He came to America nine years later with members of his family, and settled near Lonsdale. In 1911, the family moved to Webster, and eight years later to North Dakota. In 1925 they returned to Lonsdale where they continued to make their home.
Jacob Skluzacek was married to Miss Johanna Vejbor at New Prague. She passed away on December 29, 1929. He is survived by his sons, Math and Joseph of Lonsdale and James of North Dakota and his daughter, Mrs. Anna Vita of Lonsdale. One daughter, Mrs. Mary Trcka, preceded him to the grave. One brother Thomas, resides at Lonsdale.
Other near relatives are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tuma, Mrs. And Mrs. Hanzel, Mr. and Mrs. John Skluzacek and Mr. and Mrs. James Skluzacek of New Prague; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Skluzacek of New Market; Mr. and Mrs. Jake Skluzacek of Northfield and Mr. and Mrs. John Kucera of Montgomery.
Funeral services were held form the Immaculate Conception church of Lonsdale on Wednesday, December 2, at ten o’clock. Rev. Father Jos. Tomek officiated. The pallbearers were Wm. And Jos. Skluzacek, Frank, Joseph and George Trcka and Linus Vita.
